What
At the first competition of the season, our car was rear-ended. The team's welders repaired and rewelded the frame. Then at the second competition, the car rolled. We suspected the collision had pushed the rear suspension mounting points away from where they were designed to be, which would change how the car behaves. We needed to know for sure before the third and last competition.
How
Over the summer we used a handheld 3D scanner to capture the rear of the car, then compared the scan against our CAD to see whether, and how far, the geometry had moved from where it was designed.

The comparison confirmed it: the collision had slightly changed the frame geometry at the rear. It wasn't something we could fix on the current car, so we looked for alternatives.
Outcome
We settled on adding limit straps in one of our shock configuration modes. They stopped the car from rolling and held up as a temporary fix, in time for the third and final competition of the season.
